Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurates the Amaravati Seed Access Road and steel bridges, marking a major step in improving connectivity to the Andhra Pradesh capital.
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday inaugurated the Amaravati Seed Access Road and steel bridges connecting the Vijayawada-Guntur old highway, marking a significant step towards improving road connectivity to the State capital.
The newly inaugurated road and bridges are expected to provide motorists with more direct and convenient access to Amaravati. Naidu described the Seed Access Road as the new “royal road” to Amaravati, and said its completion marked only the beginning of the capital city’s development.
Addressing a public meeting after the inauguration, the Chief Minister outlined his vision of transforming Amaravati into a world-class capital city based on five key principles: a pole-free city, a blue city with extensive water bodies, a green city with abundant greenery, a green-energy city and a deep-tech knowledge city.
Naidu said Amaravati would be developed as a pollution-free city with a strong focus on emerging technologies. The government plans to transform the capital into an AI and Quantum Computing Valley, positioning Amaravati as a major deep-tech hub.
He said the capital region would encompass Amaravati, Mangalagiri, Tadepalli, Guntur and Vijayawada, which would continue to remain part of the broader capital region.
The Chief Minister recalled that some critics had dismissed the Amaravati plans as mere “graphics”. He said the designs were now gradually becoming reality.
“When the graphics are turning into reality, those who mocked them should bow their heads,” Naidu remarked.
He said the government was pursuing decentralised development across Andhra Pradesh and was committed to ensuring that development reached all regions of the State.
Naidu said the Seed Access Road would be further extended in its third phase to connect with the National Highway at Tadepalli, strengthening Amaravati’s road network.
He said the Centre had sanctioned a 190-km Outer Ring Road and a 96-km Inner Ring Road for the capital region.
The Chief Minister said the road infrastructure being created in Amaravati was being planned on lines inspired by the organised access networks of ancient civilisations, including the Indus Valley Civilisation.
He declared that Amaravati was now “unstoppable” and said better road connectivity would accelerate the capital’s development.
Naidu also said the fully developed Amaravati capital would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2028.
The Chief Minister recalled the farmers’ movement during the period between 2019 and 2024 and said their struggle would remain an important part of Amaravati’s history.
He said he and his party had supported the farmers during the movement and acknowledged their contribution to the capital city project.
Naidu said water and soil had been brought from sacred rivers and important regions across the country and mixed in Amaravati as a symbol of blessings for the capital. He also recalled the construction of the Lord Venkateswara temple in Amaravati.
Linking Amaravati’s development with the broader development of Andhra Pradesh and India, Naidu called upon people to collectively work towards transforming the State into Swarna Andhra by 2047.
Referring to the upcoming 80th Independence Day celebrations, he urged people to hold the national flag and set measurable goals for the future.
He said merely hoisting the national flag was not enough and called for collective efforts to make India one of the world’s leading nations.
Farmers, students, workers, entrepreneurs and professionals should contribute to national development through their respective fields, he said.
Naidu also called for the national flag to be displayed at every house and commercial establishment and urged people to organise Tiranga rallies at mandal, Assembly constituency and district levels.
Describing the Tiranga rallies as a people’s movement, he said India should become a developed nation over the next 21 years, while Andhra Pradesh should achieve the goal of Swarna Andhra by 2047.
The Chief Minister appealed to people to contribute ideas for Amaravati’s development and said the capital should eventually emerge as the economic capital of Andhra Pradesh.
He called for collective efforts to build a healthy, prosperous and happy Andhra Pradesh, saying Amaravati’s transformation would be an important part of the State’s growth story.
Later, Naidu inspected the newly completed residential complex for MLAs and MLCs at Rayapudi in Amaravati.
The Capital Region Development Authority formally handed over the newly constructed complex to the General Administration Department through the Chief Minister.
The residential complex consists of 12 towers with 288 flats.
Ministers P. Narayana and Nadendla Manohar accompanied the Chief Minister during the programme.
