Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh has set an ambitious target of achieving a 15 percent growth rate as part of its Swarna Andhra 2047 Vision, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Saturday while highlighting the state's long-term development roadmap.
The Chief Minister was speaking during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the State Planning Department and the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR), operating under KREA University, in Amaravati.
State Planning Department Principal Secretary Piyush Kumar and IFMR representative Kapil Viswanathan exchanged the agreement documents in the presence of senior officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu noted that Andhra Pradesh had achieved a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 13.5 percent between 2014 and 2019. While the current growth rate stands at around 11 percent, the government is determined to accelerate economic expansion and achieve the 15 percent target envisioned under Swarna Andhra 2047.
Under the agreement, IFMR will provide strategic support for implementing the ten guiding principles of the vision document. The institute will assist in establishing Mission Cells aimed at achieving higher Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth and will collaborate with the government on flagship initiatives such as the Zero Poverty Mission, Water Security Mission, and Deep Tech Mission.
The partnership will also involve field-level studies, policy recommendations, and innovative governance solutions to support sustainable development. A State-Level Committee and Mission Working Groups will be constituted to monitor and facilitate implementation.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Andhra Pradesh is integrating deep technologies across sectors to drive future growth. He highlighted investments and projects in AI skilling, drone mapping, automobiles, metals, steel, rare earth minerals, semiconductors, and defence manufacturing. The state is also aggressively promoting Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Technologies as part of its future-ready development strategy.
