Minister Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy alleged serious irregularities in the previous Group-1 recruitment process and demanded accountability from former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Mangalagiri: Social Welfare Minister Dr. Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy has demanded that former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy quit politics, alleging that irregularities in the Group-1 recruitment process during the previous YSRCP government compromised the careers of unemployed youth.
Addressing the issue at the TDP Central Office, the Minister cited findings attributed to the SIT report on the recruitment process and said the former Chief Minister should explain the findings to the people and job aspirants of Andhra Pradesh.
Dr. Swamy contrasted the allegations with the NDA coalition government’s recent DSC recruitment, saying more than 16,000 posts had been filled transparently. He said the process had withstood around 350 legal challenges and objections without compromising the interests of deserving candidates.
According to Dr. Swamy, the SIT report identified serious irregularities in the Group-1 recruitment process following the 2018 notification.
He alleged that answer sheets were taken to a private resort and kept there for 84 days, instead of being handled through the authorised APPSC system. He questioned how valuation could take place without adequate institutional safeguards, including CCTV monitoring and university experts.
The Minister further alleged that private email accounts and personal cloud-storage systems were used during the valuation process, raising concerns over the security of examination records.
He said the SIT found that only 72 of 158 valuators were qualified for the panel, while another 25 allegedly ineligible persons were involved in valuation. Discrepancies were also reportedly found between initial valuation marks and subsequently generated digital results.
Dr. Swamy cited alleged alterations to answer sheets, including the use of whitener. He said 159 signature mismatches and 153 discrepancies involving chief examiners’ signatures were detected, while differences in ink were also reportedly found.
The Minister highlighted what he described as particularly serious findings concerning OMR sheets.
He said 160 of 165 selected candidates, or 96.97 per cent, reportedly had corrections on their OMR sheets. He also cited forensic findings that allegedly detected whitener or other correction material in 169 OMR valuation sheets.
According to Dr. Swamy, examination of CFSL reports covering 736 candidates also revealed corrections in a large majority of the OMR sheets examined.
He questioned whether the alleged irregularities pointed to deliberate manipulation of the recruitment process and raised concerns over the use of private or freelance arrangements for a second round of evaluation instead of the prescribed revaluation procedure.
Dr. Swamy accused the previous government of compromising institutions and said the alleged recruitment irregularities had directly affected unemployed youth.
He alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy was attempting to divert attention from the SIT findings through political criticism of the present government.
The Minister demanded that the former Chief Minister address the allegations publicly and explain his position on the latest findings.
He said Andhra Pradesh’s youth deserved clarity and accountability over the alleged examination irregularities and urged those responsible to be held accountable.
