The countdown has begun for Mayookha, the female-oriented thriller starring Payal Chengappa, as the film’s trailer was unveiled at a grand event in Hyderabad. Produced by Sasidhar Nalla under the Prashvitha Entertai9ment banner and directed by Shree Tej S.K., the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 9, during the Dasara holiday season.
The trailer launch brought together the cast and crew, who spoke about the film’s content, performances and ambitious technical presentation. The makers have completed all formalities and are now gearing up for the theatrical release.
Payal Chengappa described Mayookha as a female-led thriller that demanded courage from everyone involved. She revealed that she was immediately drawn to director Shree Tej’s narration, particularly the emotional and thrilling situations faced by the central character.
According to Payal, the story explores how a young woman reacts when forced into challenging circumstances. She believes the film will offer audiences a fresh cinematic experience and urged viewers to watch it in theatres on October 9.
Producer Sasidhar Nalla echoed that confidence, praising Payal’s dedication and the director’s involvement across every department. He said the entire team worked with the commitment of making the project their own and expressed confidence that Telugu audiences, known for supporting strong content, will connect with Mayookha.
Director Shree Tej S.K. said the project became possible because of the faith placed in him by his parents, Payal Chengappa and producer Sasidhar Nalla. He also highlighted the film’s visual treatment, noting that the team adopted a color-grading approach inspired by Hollywood and Korean cinema.
Shree Tej promised an “edge-of-the-seat” experience and said his primary goal was to deliver something different from conventional Telugu thrillers.
The supporting cast also includes Bigg Boss fame Aman Masood, Dev D, Muralidhar Goud, Lavanya Rani, Charishma Dabbara, Janu Varma, Nanaji Karri, Raghu Vasireddy, Abhilash Adda, V.S. Raju, Madi Nasreen, Baby Manvi, Master Shanmukh Charan and others.
The technical crew features cinematographer Farhan Vadakkam, editor Sharath J., music composer Shibi Mathew Alex, art director Brahmanath A. Patil and costume designer Lavanya Rani Kandregula. D. Girish Reddy serves as executive producer, with Teja Thota as line producer and Manoj Pola as co-producer.
