Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar Orders Fast-Track Completion of Substations to Strengthen Power Supply

Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has directed officials to expedite the completion of power substations under construction across the state, emphasizing that the new substations are crucial for addressing power interruptions and low-voltage issues.
The Minister issued the directions during a review meeting with Energy Department officials held at the Secretariat on Wednesday. He instructed officials to ensure that power supply is restored through alternative arrangements whenever disruptions occur and stressed the need for strengthening the reliability of the electricity network.
Gottipati Ravi Kumar also announced that the government is planning to introduce an underground cabling system to ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical and emergency service sectors.
Highlighting the importance of uninterrupted electricity in the healthcare sector, the Minister directed officials to take special measures to ensure continuous power supply to government hospitals so that patients do not face inconvenience during outages. He instructed officials to review the performance of generators in nearly 30 major hospitals across the state and ensure that no switch-over issues arise during power failures.
The Minister further directed officials to complete all ongoing power sector development projects within the stipulated timelines.
With regard to major temples in the state, he instructed officials to take necessary steps to prevent inconvenience to devotees due to power interruptions. He asked them to examine and implement mechanisms for immediate restoration of power supply whenever disruptions occur.
The Minister also reviewed the power-related issues experienced during the summer season and the measures taken to address them. He urged officials to maintain a focused approach toward resolving consumer grievances and strengthening the power distribution system.
In line with the directions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Minister emphasized that quality and uninterrupted power supply should be ensured without increasing electricity tariffs or imposing any additional burden on consumers. He called upon officials to work in close coordination to achieve this objective.
The review meeting was attended by APCPDCL CMD Pullareddy, APTRANSCO JMD Surya Sai Praveen Chand, directors, and senior officials of the Energy Department.
