MLA Prathipati Pulla Rao harassed the NRI family for two years: Lakshmi Parvathi

YSRCP State General Secretary Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi alleged that Chilakaluripet MLA Prathipati Pulla Rao has been attempting to take control of a commercial mall belonging to an NRI family by taking advantage of financial difficulties they faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Addressing the media along with Krishna Priya, wife of NRI Murali Mohan, Lakshmi Parvathi said the family has been subjected to harassment for the past two years despite repeatedly expressing their willingness to clear the outstanding loan. She questioned how a loan of Rs. 90 lakh had allegedly increased to Rs. 7.5 crore within four years and claimed that the ultimate aim was to seize the property.

Krishna Priya said her family had invested their lifetime savings earned in the United States to establish a modern shopping mall in Chilakaluripet. However, the business suffered severe losses during the COVID-19 period, leading to financial challenges. She alleged that false propaganda, business disruptions, intimidation, and damage to CCTV cameras eventually forced the mall to shut down.

She further stated that although the courts had issued orders restoring possession of the property to the family, the directives were not implemented. Questioning the sharp rise in the loan amount, she said even their offer to repay the dues had been turned down.

Lakshmi Parvathi accused the coalition government of encouraging land-grabbing activities and assured the family that the YSRCP would extend legal assistance and continue supporting them until justice is served.
