CM Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan launched ₹11,085 crore rural development works under Palle Panduga 3.0 in Udayagiri constituency.
Udayagiri: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday launched rural development works worth ₹11,085 crore under Palle Panduga 3.0 at Ramapuram village in Varikuntapadu mandal of Udayagiri constituency.
Addressing a public meeting later, the Chief Minister said Palle Panduga was ushering in a new phase of development in rural areas, with the government focusing on strengthening the village economy and improving basic infrastructure.
Chandrababu Naidu said the government was undertaking works such as the construction of Gokulam sheds and magic drains, while also working towards ensuring eligible families receive houses, house sites, electricity connections and solar panels.
He praised Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for successfully organising three editions of Palle Panduga, saying that he had made a distinct mark in the area of village development.
As part of the initiative, Gram Sabhas were organised simultaneously across all 13,326 villages in the State to launch various development programmes, the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister said the government had granted promotions to around 10,000 Panchayat Raj employees after a gap of 25 years.
He also said the government had released ₹4,136 crore under the 15th Finance Commission for development activities.
Chandrababu Naidu said the Panchayat Raj Department, under Pawan Kalyan's leadership, receiving 13 national awards was a matter of appreciation.
With the impact of El Niño continuing, the government was taking measures to address drinking water shortages and protect horticultural crops, the Chief Minister said.
He appealed to people from Nellore and Udayagiri who had settled in other parts of the country and abroad to return and contribute to the development of their native regions.
The Chief Minister also urged citizens to support the government's development initiatives, stating that improving people's lives was the government's responsibility while citizens also had a role in supporting development efforts.
