BCY chief Bode Ramachandra Yadav alleges a conspiracy behind attacks in Punganur and demands arrests and an investigation ahead of local body elections.

Punganur: Bharat Chaitanya Yuvajana (BCY) Party founder and national president Bode Ramachandra Yadav has demanded the arrest of former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and MP Mithun Reddy until the completion of the local body elections, alleging that they were responsible for attacks in the Punganur Assembly constituency.
Addressing the issue in a press statement, Ramachandra Yadav described the incidents as unfortunate and called on the Election Commission and the police to investigate the alleged conspiracy behind the violence. He accused the Peddireddy family of encouraging intimidation and land-related irregularities in the region, allegations that were not independently established in the statement.
Ramachandra Yadav alleged that the family had exercised considerable influence over Punganur for nearly two decades and criticised the TDP-led state government for failing to take effective action against those he accused of involvement in the incidents.
He also alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had an understanding with the Peddireddy family that prevented action against them. He questioned the government's response to the developments in Punganur and criticised Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's visit to the region, claiming that it had not resulted in meaningful action.
The BCY chief claimed that he had personally witnessed what he described as a conspiracy behind the attacks. According to his account, while he was observing a fast, he went to the terrace of his building around midnight and saw Mithun Reddy meeting associates at a nearby guest house.
Ramachandra Yadav alleged that the meeting was connected to the planning of the attacks. The claim was presented as his allegation; independent verification or a response from Mithun Reddy was not included in the press statement.
He further alleged that his residence had been attacked and his vehicles set on fire during the previous YSR Congress Party government, but that no effective action had been taken. He claimed that subsequent incidents involving people allegedly brought in by Mithun Reddy had also not received an adequate police response.
Ramachandra Yadav also raised allegations of large-scale land irregularities in Madanapalle and encroachment of forest land in the Pulicherla mandal, claiming that appropriate legal action had not followed. He criticised Pawan Kalyan's visit to the area, alleging that it had not led to concrete enforcement measures.
The BCY leader described the local body election environment as a contest marked by intimidation rather than democratic competition. He urged the Election Commission and police authorities to intervene, investigate the incidents and ensure that candidates and voters could participate without fear.
Ramachandra Yadav challenged Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to order the immediate arrest of Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and Mithun Reddy and keep them in custody until the local body elections were completed. He said the demand was intended to ensure accountability for the alleged attacks.
He added that the BCY would continue its political campaign against what he described as corruption and intimidation by the major parties.
The allegations remain claims made by the BCY chief. Independent confirmation of the alleged conspiracy and the other accusations was not available in the supplied statement. Responses from the individuals named, as well as details of any police investigation or official action, would be necessary for a complete account.
