YSRCP Challenges Lokesh to Public Debate on Mega DSC

Machilipatnam/Tadepalli: Former Minister Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani) and YSRCP State Official Spokesperson Putta Shivashankar on Monday challenged Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh to a public debate on the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment, while reiterating their demand for his resignation and a comprehensive CBI investigation into the recruitment process.

Addressing separate press conferences, the YSRCP leaders said the party was fully prepared for an open debate on the Mega DSC issue and asked Lokesh to announce the date, time and venue. Nani said that if Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu chose to participate, YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would represent the party. If Lokesh attended, he said, he was ready to debate the minister himself.

The leaders alleged that the Mega DSC recruitment was marred by irregularities at multiple stages. They questioned why District Selection Committee merit lists were not published, why candidates who completed certificate verification under the 1:1 ratio were allegedly denied appointments, and why certain national-level medal-winning sportspersons were overlooked.

They also alleged that jobs were given to candidates who had not written the TET or DSC examinations and to those with invalid sports certificates. According to the YSRCP leaders, the government must explain why it amended sports quota rules immediately after the recruitment process.

Nani and Shivashankar said the YSRCP had been highlighting alleged irregularities in the Mega DSC recruitment for the past two months. They claimed that Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had raised more than 100 questions supported by documentary evidence, but the government had failed to respond to them.

Instead of answering the allegations with facts, they alleged, the government was resorting to political rhetoric and diversionary tactics.

The leaders also referred to protests held across Andhra Pradesh, claiming that unemployed youth and Gen-Z aspirants from Uttarandhra to Rayalaseema had participated in demonstrations against the recruitment process. They said the protests reflected the concerns of nearly 3.5 lakh DSC aspirants.

Reiterating their demand, the YSRCP leaders called for an independent CBI investigation or a judicial inquiry headed by a retired judge into the Mega DSC recruitment. They maintained that if the government had nothing to hide, it should order an impartial probe.

Holding Education Minister Nara Lokesh responsible for the recruitment process, they demanded his immediate resignation. They further said that if he failed to step down, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu should remove him from the Cabinet and order an independent investigation.
