YSRCP MPs demanded Education Minister Nara Lokesh's resignation and sought a CBI probe into the DSC-2025 recruitment, alleging irregularities, paper leak concerns and sports quota violations.
New Delhi: YSR Congress Party Rajya Sabha MP Golla Babu Rao and Lok Sabha MPs Dr. Maddila Gurumoorthy and Dr. Tanuja Rani on Wednesday demanded the immediate resignation of Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh, alleging large-scale irregularities in the DSC-2025 teacher recruitment process. They also called for a comprehensive CBI investigation into the entire recruitment exercise.
Addressing a press conference at Andhra Bhavan, the MPs alleged that the government deviated from established recruitment procedures by sidelining the DSC Convener and assigning responsibility for conducting the examination to the SCERT Director.
They further alleged that confidential tasks, including question paper preparation and uploading, were entrusted to outsourced employees, raising concerns over the possibility of a question paper leak.
Referring to the case of Purama Naveen, an outsourced SCERT employee, the MPs questioned how he allegedly secured top ranks in the examination and claimed that his subsequent removal from the merit list, denial of a call letter and disappearance of related data indicated an attempt to suppress evidence. They also questioned whether authorities had investigated the extent of the alleged paper leak or the money that may have changed hands.
The MPs also raised allegations regarding appointments under the sports quota, claiming that changes made through G.O. 4, G.O. 47 and G.O. 56 enabled irregular appointments. They alleged that several genuine national-level medal winners were overlooked, while candidates who had merely participated in competitions were selected for jobs.
They further questioned the large number of sports certificates issued by associations headed by TDP MLA Kuna Ravi Kumar and Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat, alleging that the matter required an independent investigation.
Claiming that audio and video evidence existed showing demands of Rs.15 lakh to Rs.20 lakh for sports quota appointments, the MPs alleged that an individual using the government logo on WhatsApp to promise jobs had not been subjected to proper legal action. They accused the government of filing weak cases that allegedly protected the main culprits.
Demanding Minister Nara Lokesh's resignation on moral grounds, the MPs called for an impartial investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or another independent agency. They also sought strict action against those found responsible and justice for nearly 3.5 lakh DSC aspirants.
