YSRCP will protest in Vijayawada on September 21, demanding a CBI probe into alleged DSC and APPSC recruitment irregularities, Ambati Rambabu said.
Tadepalli: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) will stage a protest in front of the SAAP office in Vijayawada at 10 am on September 21, demanding a thorough investigation into alleged irregularities in the DSC teacher recruitment process and justice for deserving candidates, former minister Ambati Rambabu said on Tuesday.
Addressing the media in Tadepalli, Rambabu alleged that although the TDP-led coalition government claims to have filled more than 16,000 teacher posts, allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process continue to emerge.
He alleged that there had been claims of question paper leaks, sale of examination papers and candidates allegedly securing jobs in return for money. The allegations, he said, warranted an independent and transparent investigation.
Rambabu said allegations relating to the sports quota were particularly serious. He pointed out that the sports quota had been increased from 2% to 3%, and alleged that some teacher posts were secured using fake or questionable sports certificates.
According to Rambabu, the YSRCP had produced what it described as evidence indicating that deserving candidates were denied opportunities while allegedly ineligible candidates secured appointments using questionable certificates.
He further claimed that some government departments had also reportedly found certain sports certificates to be invalid.
Rambabu criticised the government for not ordering an independent investigation despite the allegations. He reiterated the YSRCP's demand for a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in both DSC and APPSC recruitments.
“If the government is confident that there has been no wrongdoing, it should have no hesitation in ordering a transparent investigation,” Rambabu said.
He also demanded that the government apologise to deserving candidates who were allegedly denied opportunities and take appropriate steps to provide them relief.
The former minister said the September 21 protest would highlight the concerns of job aspirants and demand accountability in the recruitment process.
He asserted that the YSRCP would continue its campaign until the government responds to the allegations and justice is delivered to candidates who may have been affected.
The allegations made by Rambabu have not been independently established, and the government’s response to the latest charges was not included in the statement.
