The Andhra Pradesh government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the Sai Krishna disappearance case involving allegations of illegal detention, custodial torture, murder and destruction of evidence.

The Andhra Pradesh government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the Sai Krishna disappearance case registered at Krishnalanka Police Station, which involves serious allegations including illegal detention, custodial torture, murder and destruction of evidence.
The decision was taken following a proposal submitted by the Director General of Police (DGP), with the objective of ensuring a fair, impartial and comprehensive investigation into the case.
According to official orders, the SIT will be headed by Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) M. Ravi Prakash. The team includes Superintendents of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi and Amit Bardar, along with Additional Superintendent of Police L. Sudhakar as members.
To maintain transparency and avoid any potential conflict of interest, all officers appointed to the SIT have been drawn from outside the NTR Police Commissionerate limits. The government stated that the arrangement is intended to ensure an independent probe into the allegations surrounding the case.
The SIT has been empowered to seek additional manpower, forensic expertise, technical support and other resources required for the investigation. The state government has also directed all departments, agencies and officials concerned to extend full cooperation to the team to facilitate a swift and effective inquiry.
Meanwhile, investigation teams have intensified their efforts and have been questioning personnel attached to the police task force as well as staff members of the Krishnalanka Police Station over the past two days. Authorities are examining various aspects of the case and collecting evidence to establish the sequence of events.
Officials said witness statements are being recorded using the e-Sakshya digital evidence platform. The use of the technology is aimed at ensuring transparency, maintaining the integrity of statements and preventing any tampering with evidence during the course of the investigation.
The Sai Krishna case has drawn significant public attention and triggered widespread demands for accountability. With the constitution of the SIT, the government has signaled its intention to conduct a thorough investigation and bring all facts related to the case to light.
The probe is expected to examine the allegations against former Station House Officer Nagaraju and determine the role of all individuals connected to the incident.
