Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister and Palnadu District In-charge Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar said that the Coalition Government is giving the highest priority to the welfare and social security of the poor. He participated in the NTR Bharosa Pension Distribution Programme held at Kandlagunta village in Nakarikallu mandal of Palnadu district on Monday. Local MLA Kanna Lakshminarayana and MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu also took part in the programme.
On the occasion, Minister Ravi Kumar personally visited the homes of beneficiaries and distributed social security pensions. He interacted with senior citizens, persons with disabilities, widows, and other eligible beneficiaries, and enquired about their welfare and concerns. He stated that the government is providing financial security to vulnerable sections through various welfare schemes. Speaking at the event, the Minister announced that the government has recently sanctioned 5,606 new spouse pensions across the state. He said that the government is ensuring the timely disbursement of pensions on the first day of every month to over 6.3 million beneficiaries across Andhra Pradesh.
Fulfilling the promises made during the elections, the government is effectively implementing welfare programmes and standing firmly by the poor, he added. The Minister further stated that the Coalition Government is spending approximately ₹34,000 crore annually on social security pensions. He noted that no other state government in the country is allocating such a significant amount towards social pension schemes. Since assuming office, the government has disbursed a record ₹65,886.57 crore towards pensions for beneficiaries across the state.
Ravi Kumar emphasized that the government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu remains firmly committed to the welfare of the poor, backward, and weaker sections of society. He said the government is delivering on every promise made to the people while giving equal importance to both welfare and development. Public representatives, officials, party leaders, workers, and a large number of villagers participated in the programme.
