YSRCP leaders submitted representations to the Endowments Commissioner alleging temple hundi thefts, declining revenues and irregularities, demanding stronger security and accountability.

Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders on Tuesday demanded immediate action to address alleged temple hundi thefts, declining temple revenues and irregularities in the Endowments Department, submitting two representations to the Endowments Commissioner in Gollapudi.
Former Minister Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao, former MLA Malladi Vishnu and other YSRCP leaders met the Commissioner and sought stronger security measures, protection of temple properties and accountability for alleged administrative lapses.
Addressing the media after submitting the memorandums, Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao questioned the silence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan over the reported thefts and irregularities in temples across the State. He alleged that despite repeated incidents involving temple hundis, the government had failed to respond adequately.
The former minister also alleged that Endowments Department lands were being illegally allotted and said the YSRCP would continue its legal efforts to safeguard temple properties. He urged the government to strengthen temple security and initiate strict action against those responsible for alleged mismanagement.
Former MLA Malladi Vishnu said one of the representations highlighted issues concerning archakas and Vedic scholars at the Kanaka Durga Temple, while the other focused on temple administration and security. He questioned whether the reported decline in hundi income despite an increase in devotee footfall indicated administrative failures or irregularities.
Vishnu also sought clarification on issues including alleged ticket recycling, repeated hundi and gold thefts, security lapses and encroachments on Endowments Department lands. He called for filling vacant Veda Parayanam posts at Tirumala and effective implementation of welfare initiatives such as the Brahmin Corporation and Garuda schemes.
The YSRCP leaders demanded a transparent explanation for the reported decline in hundi collections and urged the government to take corrective measures without delay.
The party warned that if those responsible were not held accountable and steps were not taken to address the issues raised, it would intensify its agitation across the State.
