YSRCP leader Gadikota Srikanth Reddy alleged that the ED searches in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case were being highlighted to divert attention from issues facing the coalition government.

Tadepalli: YSRCP State General Secretary Gadikota Srikanth Reddy has alleged that the recent Enforcement Directorate searches linked to the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case were being used as a political diversion to shift public attention from issues confronting the coalition government.
Addressing the media at the YSRCP central office, Srikanth Reddy said several issues were currently generating public debate, including alleged irregularities in DSC recruitment, the reported recovery of ganja from a vehicle associated with police personnel, the protest by Sugali Preethi’s mother and a reported hit-and-run incident involving the son of ruling-party MP Lingamaneni Ramesh.
He alleged that the ED’s searches at the residence of YSRCP MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy were being presented by sections of the media as a major development in the Viveka case.
Srikanth Reddy challenged the coalition government to order a CBI investigation into alleged DSC recruitment irregularities, particularly issues surrounding the sports quota.
He said YSRCP was also prepared to face a CBI inquiry into the Group-1 recruitment allegations being raised against the previous government.
On the murder of former minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, Srikanth Reddy said Chandrababu Naidu was Chief Minister when the incident occurred and recalled that both a Special Investigation Team and subsequently the CBI had investigated the case.
With the matter now before the courts, he questioned why the trial should face any obstacles and called for the judicial process to proceed without interference.
The YSRCP leader also raised questions about the role of senior advocate Siddharth Luthra, referring to his appearance in several cases connected with Chandrababu Naidu and his representation of an accused in the Viveka case. Srikanth Reddy sought transparency regarding public expenditure on legal representation.
Srikanth Reddy said YSRCP wanted the investigation and trial to proceed without political interference.
He said Vivekananda Reddy was a senior YSRCP leader and the brother of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and urged all sides to avoid political narratives around the case.
“Stop false narratives and diversion politics. Let the investigation and trial proceed, and let the truth come before the people,” he said.
