Mumbai: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday visited Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan at a hospital in Mumbai, where he is recuperating after undergoing rotator cuff surgery on his right shoulder. Wishing him a speedy recovery, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that Pawan Kalyan would soon return to public life and administrative responsibilities.
During his visit, Naidu interacted with the doctors treating the Deputy Chief Minister and reviewed the progress of his treatment. He advised Pawan Kalyan to strictly adhere to medical advice and complete the prescribed period of rest to ensure a full recovery.
Minister Nadendla Manohar received the Chief Minister at the hospital, while Ministers P. Narayana and Anagani Satya Prasad accompanied him during the visit.
Later, speaking to media representatives in Mumbai, Naidu said Pawan Kalyan's health was improving steadily and that he was eager to resume his official responsibilities at the earliest. He said doctors had recommended three weeks of rest following the rotator cuff surgery.
The Chief Minister observed that Pawan Kalyan is known for his unwavering commitment to public service and often works tirelessly without paying adequate attention to his own health. While appreciating his dedication, Naidu stressed that continuous work without sufficient rest could lead to avoidable health complications and advised him to prioritise his recovery before returning to official duties.
Describing the Deputy Chief Minister as a leader deeply committed to the welfare of the people, Naidu said he was confident that Pawan Kalyan would recover fully and continue serving the State with renewed energy.
Responding to questions on the recent tourist boat tragedy in Vietnam, the Chief Minister said the Andhra Pradesh Government was closely monitoring the situation. He expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident involving tourists from the Telugu states and said the State Government was coordinating with the Government of India to facilitate the return of the mortal remains of those who died.
He added that continuous efforts were also being made to ensure the safe return of the remaining tourists stranded in Vietnam, with officials maintaining close coordination with Indian diplomatic authorities.
Commenting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's overseas engagements, Naidu said the Prime Minister had significantly enhanced India's stature on the global stage. He observed that India enjoys growing international respect under Modi's leadership and expressed confidence that the vision of Viksit Bharat would be realised through sustained reforms and economic progress.
The Chief Minister said India was passing through a transformative phase and expressed optimism that the country would emerge as one of the world's leading powers under Prime Minister Modi's leadership.
