President Droupadi Murmu urged students to embrace lifelong learning, innovation and ethical values while addressing the first convocation of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh.

Anantapuramu: President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday urged students to embrace lifelong learning, innovation and ethical values while addressing the first convocation ceremony of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CUAP) in Anantapuramu.
Describing the occasion as a defining milestone in the journey of the young university, the President said the institution had developed a long-term vision to become a future-ready centre of excellence. She appreciated the university's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting quality education, and expressed confidence that it would play a significant role in realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Congratulating the graduating students, President Murmu said their academic success reflected years of dedication, perseverance and hard work. She noted that while individual effort was vital, their achievements had also been shaped by the sacrifices of parents, the guidance of teachers and the support of society.
The President urged graduates to give back to society by using their knowledge for the benefit of the underprivileged. Whether they choose careers as entrepreneurs, scientists, public servants or philanthropists, she said, their education should contribute to inclusive development and nation-building.
Highlighting the rapid pace of technological change, President Murmu said learning should not end with the completion of a degree. She encouraged students to continuously adapt to emerging technologies and cultivate the courage to explore new ideas and acquire new knowledge.
"Our learning-oriented, resilient and innovative youth are among the country's greatest assets," she said, adding that creativity, determination and a sense of responsibility would enable young people to transform challenges into opportunities and contribute to a more prosperous and inclusive India.
The President also stressed the importance of ethical values in personal and professional life. She said qualities such as honesty, compassion, empathy and respect for nature are not merely moral ideals but the foundation of holistic development and responsible citizenship.
She concluded by stating that the vision of Viksit Bharat can be achieved only through the energy, talent and commitment of India's youth. Whatever career path they choose, she urged students to pursue excellence with dedication, integrity and a lifelong commitment to learning.
