YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged custodial death of Gade Sai Krishna and sought strict action against all officials found responsible.

Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged custodial death of Gade Sai Krishna at the Krishna Lanka Police Station and called for stringent action against all those responsible.
Jagan visited Sai Krishna's residence in Krishna Lanka and consoled his mother, Gade Vijayalakshmi, and other family members. Speaking to the media afterward, he described the incident as a serious reflection of the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh.
According to Jagan, Sai Krishna was taken into police custody on May 9. He alleged that despite repeated visits by Sai Krishna's mother to the police station seeking information about her son, police officials failed to provide any assistance. He further claimed that written complaints submitted to senior police authorities also did not result in any action.
The YSRCP president objected to what he described as attempts to portray Sai Krishna as a rowdy or mafia operative after his death. Referring to concerns raised by family members, Jagan said Sai Krishna was working as a gig worker to earn a livelihood and questioned the allegations being made against him after the incident.
Jagan stated that the family eventually approached the High Court through a Habeas Corpus petition after suspecting foul play. He alleged that only after judicial intervention and public pressure did authorities acknowledge the custodial death and suspend the Krishna Lanka Circle Inspector.
Drawing attention to another incident, Jagan referred to the death of Kranthi Kumar, who allegedly died by suicide after facing harassment from the same police officer. He questioned how two young men could lose their lives within a short span under the jurisdiction of the same police station.
Demanding accountability, Jagan said suspension alone was insufficient and called for murder charges to be filed against all those responsible. He alleged that responsibility should not be limited to a single officer and claimed that officials at various levels had failed to act despite receiving complaints.
Seeking an independent investigation, Jagan urged the Centre to order a CBI probe into the case. He said only a comprehensive inquiry could uncover the full facts, identify all those involved and ensure justice for the victim's family.
The YSRCP chief also assured Sai Krishna's family and others affected by similar incidents that the party would extend full support in their legal battle for justice.
