Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute ₹2,400 crore under PM-VBRY on June 19, supporting job creation, formal employment and social security coverage across India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will disburse incentives worth around ₹2,400 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) at a special programme scheduled to be held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on June 19.
The disbursal marks a major milestone in the implementation of the Centre's flagship employment-linked incentive scheme, which aims to accelerate job creation, encourage formalisation of employment, improve employability and expand social security coverage across sectors. According to official estimates, the scheme has already facilitated employment opportunities for nearly 15 lakh beneficiaries across the country.
Launched as part of the government's broader vision of building a developed India, PM-VBRY seeks to encourage both employees and employers to participate in the formal economy. Under the scheme, first-time employees are eligible to receive an incentive of up to ₹15,000, providing financial support as they begin their professional careers.
To promote sustained job creation, employers generating additional employment are eligible for incentives of up to ₹3,000 per month for every additional employee. The scheme is designed to reward enterprises that expand their workforce while ensuring workers are brought under formal employment and social security systems.
Recognising the manufacturing sector's critical role in driving economic growth and employment generation, the government has extended a special benefit under PM-VBRY. Employers in the manufacturing sector can receive incentives for up to four years, while employers in other sectors are eligible for benefits for a period of two years.
The initiative reflects the government's commitment to creating an enabling environment for employment-led growth and ensuring that the gains of India's economic expansion translate into quality job opportunities for the country's youth.
PM-VBRY came into effect on August 1, 2025, with a total financial outlay of ₹99,446 crore. The ambitious programme aims to support the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs over a two-year period. Of these, nearly 1.92 crore beneficiaries are expected to be first-time entrants into the workforce.
Officials said the scheme is playing a transformative role in expanding formal employment, improving social security coverage and strengthening labour market participation. By supporting both employers and employees, PM-VBRY seeks to build a stronger and more inclusive employment ecosystem while advancing the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
The incentive disbursal event on June 19 is expected to highlight the progress made under the scheme and reaffirm the government's focus on employment generation as a key pillar of economic development.
